The demand is there for under 18 to under 13 divisions to play 11 a side
2. What facilities will be used?
The facilities will be the Soccer Centre BMO Centre, Lamport Stadium, Wild Water Kingdom and new facilities if available. The whole field will be used at
these facilities.
3. Why is it so expensive to participate in the new proposed 11-a-side league?
The cost of a game for a full 60 minutes plus five minutes for halftime is $550 per hour for the whole field.
4. Why does the 10 game season cost $3360 and 14 game season $4500 15 games $4800 16 games $5100
The cost for 10 games includes the cost of fields and all the administration fees. For 12 or 14 games, only the cost of the fields are added and included. The cost per team with 16 players is only about $280 per player or $20 per game for one hour of play.
5. Why doesn’t the OISL start with a lower price for the first year and increase the price later for the following years, just to get the new format going?
The OISL is a not for profit organization. All expenses are for running a league. The Executive are all volunteers.
6. Will the OISL run 6 vs. 6 for the 2009/2010 season?
Yes, in the ages Under 8 to Under 18 if requirement. is there.
7. How will teams be entered in the Under13 to Under 18 divisions for the 2009/2010 11-a-side season?
The teams will be entered by the following criteria:
1. Teams participating in OISL 2008/2009 season 11 aside
2. top six teams in 2009 outdoor season in OYSL League “1”
3. top two teams in regional divisions in SRSL, CGSL, CSL League “3”
4. teams wishing to play 11-a-side
5 due to the format of 6 or 8 teams maximum per division applications will be accepted by the date
arriving at OISL when 8 teams are accepted per division applications will be closed.
8. Will there be divisions of 6, 7, or 8 teams?
The division will be determined of the team entries in each division and the cost will be adjusted by the teams entries
9. If 10 games are played with 6 teams in the division, will they play every second week?
Yes, it is the most practical way to do the schedule.
10. What will be the format if up to 16 teams want to enter for one age group in the new proposed league?
The OISL, under the “OSA Pyramid of Play”, will have a level one and level two league or a level three league with East and West.
11. If it is a level one and level two league, will there be a promotion and relegation system?
Yes, as per “OSA Rules of Pyramid of Play”.
12. What will be the duration of each game?
The games will be 30 minute halves. The first game will start at 8 am, the second at 9:05 am and third at 10:10 am.
13. What rules will be used in the 11-a-side game?
All the rules will be as the Outdoor Rules with few changes to be approved by OSA before the season starts.
